CNSF Candidates get European exposure in So. Florida

Three young coaches learn from Ajax America

The CNSF launched a new and exciting partnership with Ajax America this winter in Orlando Florida. Three young coaches spent the week on full scholarships with the Ajax staff at the Tiger Town training facility learning about one of the worlds most successful youth educational systems.

Jeremy Babstock from Newfoundland, CA, Michael Strangio from Youngstown, N.Y. and Matt Parmer from Atlanta, GA spent December 27 31 in Lakeland Florida at the National Coaching School. The Ajax Coaches Instructional Package gave them the opportunity to observe Ajax professionals train aspiring young American soccer players. They were able to observe each session on the field, watched films, attended classroom lectures and had full access to the Ajax Staff. The lead Ajax coach was Barry Hulshoff, three time European Cup Champion, European Defender of the Year and a former head coach for the Ajax First Team. Former Trinidad-Tobago Youth International Curt Hernandez and Scott Brody, the 2005 NSCAA/Adidas East Regional Youth Boys Coach of the Year assisted Barry.

Dragan Mirkovic, Technical Director for the NLSA and Jeremy Babstocks sponsor said First of all I would like to thank you on behalf of Newfoundland & Labrador Soccer Association for providing a fantastic coaching experience for one of our young and ambitious soccer coaches. Jeremy said that it was a kind of experience that he will remember for many years.

CNSF Executive Director Mima Nedelcovych was able to stop in and view the proceedings. It was a first class operation all the way. The guys really had an opportunity to experience a Top Flight European Program first hand. This is definitely something that we will continue in the future.
